Vietnam Secretariat issues directive on Party building in private sector

The Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam has issued Directive No. 12-CT/TW to innovate and improve the quality of Party building within the private economic sector. Signed by Politburo member Tran Cam Tu, the directive aims to strengthen Party leadership and strengthen ties between the Party and the working class, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs.

Data shows that since 2019, the number of Party organizations in the private sector has grown by 25.92% to 15,221, while the number of Party members increased by 2.21% to 187,034. However, the Secretariat noted that Party development has not yet kept pace with the rapid growth and scale of the private sector.

The directive emphasizes that Party membership development must focus on quality, correct motivation, and merit rather than pursuing quantity or using administrative orders. It calls for digital transformation in Party work and encourages businesses to view Party organizations as factors that contribute to harmonious labor relations, corporate culture, and sustainable development.
