Vietnam secures 5 medals at 2026 Asian Para Games

The Vietnamese para-sports delegation earned a total of five medals at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The medal tally includes one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, leaving the team ranked 18th on the medal standings.

Key individual achievements included a gold medal in the men's 100m breaststroke (SB5) by Do Thanh Hai, followed by a silver in the same event by Le Tien Dat. In weightlifting, Le Van Cong secured a silver medal in the men's 49kg category. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy contributed two bronze medals in javelin and discus throwing.

While the gold medal count remained consistent with the 2023 Hangzhou games, the total medal count decreased from 20 to five. However, the size of the Vietnamese delegation also saw a significant reduction, dropping from 48 athletes competing in seven sports in 2023 to 21 athletes competing in five sports in 2026.
