Vietnam seeks to expand cashew nut exports to Argentina
Vietnam is seeking to expand its cashew nut market presence in Argentina. A business matchmaking seminar held in Buenos Aires on October 1 brought together representatives from the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS), Vietnamese producers and exporters, and Argentine importers and distributors.
Vietnam remains the world's leading processor and exporter of cashew nuts, controlling approximately 80% of the global market. In 2025, Vietnamese cashew exports reached $5.43 billion, up from $4.34 billion the previous year. While China, the United States, and the Netherlands remain major markets, South America is viewed as a high-potential region. Specifically, cashew exports to Argentina grew 1.7 times in 2025 compared to 2024, reaching nearly $1.2 million.
To strengthen its position in Argentina, Vietnamese companies have been advised to better meet local buyer expectations regarding product quality, packaging, commercial terms, and supply consistency.
