Vietnam seeks to strengthen ties with overseas diaspora

The spirit of “accompanying and listening,” as outlined in Resolution 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo, is being highlighted as a key method to strengthen connections with the Vietnamese diaspora worldwide. Dr. Hoang Thi Hong Ha, president of the Association of Essences of Vietnam and a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in France, noted that this approach can consolidate trust and mobilize the potential of overseas Vietnamese communities.

As the diaspora becomes increasingly diverse in terms of generation, profession, and connection to the homeland, the resolution emphasizes that unity does not require identical thinking. Instead, it aims to create a common space where contributors feel respected and supported. This engagement can manifest through economic contributions, professional networks, or cultural initiatives such as language and gastronomy, particularly for younger generations born abroad.
