Vietnam sets training standards for 22 nuclear energy disciplines

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued training standards for master's and doctoral programs across 22 disciplines related to nuclear energy. This initiative aims to unify training requirements and develop human resources for the nuclear sector.

The curriculum includes 7 core disciplines, such as nuclear engineering, atomic physics, and thermal engineering, alongside 15 supporting and interdisciplinary fields. Notably, the list incorporates modern technologies including artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, and information technology to support digital nuclear engineering and smart infrastructure.

Graduates will receive degrees in their respective fields, with the option to include “Nuclear Energy” or equivalent content in their diploma supplements to indicate specialized expertise. The training focuses on three main directions: nuclear energy systems and technology, nuclear safety and security, and digital nuclear engineering.
