Vietnam agricultural sector adopts technology to boost high-value crop exports

Agricultural sectors across various Vietnamese provinces are undergoing significant transformations through the application of high technology and deep processing to increase product value and export potential.

In Ninh Binh, businesses like Minh Duong Co., Ltd. are utilizing freeze-drying and vacuum-drying technologies to process corn, sweet potatoes, and bananas. These efforts have secured 5-star OCOP national certification, with products being exported to markets including South Korea, Canada, France, and China. Similarly, Vu Gia Medicinal Materials Co., Ltd. has developed a 15-hectare production zone for golden camellia tea, focusing on building a complete value chain from raw material to branded medicinal products.

In Dien Bien, provincial authorities are implementing a strategic shift from low-efficiency crops like corn and cassava to high-value, long-term crops. The province aims to establish large-scale production areas for macadamia and coffee, targeting 70,000 hectares of concentrated commodity production by 2030.

Other regions are also seeing growth in standardized production. In coffee-growing areas, companies like Tropico Tay Nguyen Coffee Co., Ltd. are implementing ecological models and organic fertilizers to support high-quality yields for domestic and international markets. Across these regions, the integration of international standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and ISO 22000 is becoming a central driver for agricultural modernization.
