Vietnam social programs support children with disabilities and ethnic minorities
Various social welfare initiatives are underway in Vietnam to support children in vulnerable circumstances. At the Hong Linh Inclusive Education Development Support Center, educators and nuns provide specialized training for children with disabilities. For example, 7-year-old Dao Quoc Hung, who has autism, has shown significant progress in communication and cognitive skills, such as recognizing colors and shapes, after two years of dedicated instruction.
In Dong Nai, local authorities and social organizations are focusing on children in border areas and ethnic minority mountainous regions. To mark the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival, programs have been implemented to provide scholarships, bicycles, books, and clothing. In Thien Hung commune, officials distributed thousands of gift sets containing sweets and lanterns to children in border and minority communities to encourage their studies and ensure they can participate in cultural festivities.
