Vietnam Social Security adjusts September 2026 pension payment schedule

Vietnam Social Security has announced an adjustment to the pension and social security benefit payment schedule for September 2026. The change is due to the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2, 2026, which results in a five-day consecutive break from August 29 to September 2.

In Hanoi and various provinces, payments via personal bank accounts are scheduled for September 4, 2026, while cash payments will be distributed starting after that date. To ensure efficiency and safety, the agency is encouraging recipients to use bank transfers, a method currently used by approximately 90% of beneficiaries.

In 34 provinces and cities, payments will be organized in two separate phases to facilitate data reconciliation and secure transaction processing.
