Vietnam sports delegation secures 25 medals at ASIAD 20
The Vietnam Sports Delegation concluded its participation in ASIAD 20 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, securing a total of 25 medals. The tally includes 3 gold, 3 silver, and 19 bronze medals. The gold medals were earned in sepak takraw and karate. While the performance included notable individual efforts, such as wushu athlete Dinh Van Tam winning a bronze medal despite injury, the three gold medals fell short of the initial target of five for key disciplines.
In a separate development, the South Korean Ministry of National Defense is considering revoking military service exemptions for gold medalists at the Asian Games and Olympics following controversial remarks made by a U23 player.
