Vietnam implements new commodity exchange regulations and infrastructure push

Vietnam's government and regional authorities are implementing several key economic and regulatory updates. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular No. 47/2026/TT-BCT, requiring commodity exchanges and clearing centers to provide real-time transaction data to the Ministry starting September 15.

In terms of fiscal management, national public investment disbursement reached 48.9% of the target by the end of August 2026. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, presiding over the August regular Government meeting, emphasized the need to accelerate growth, control inflation, and directed the State Bank of Vietnam to explore reducing lending interest rates to support the economy.

Regional developments show significant infrastructure activity. Ho Chi Minh City has commenced 22 major projects with a total investment of approximately 647 trillion VND in the first eight months of 2026. Meanwhile, Hanoi is working toward an 11% growth target, reporting a budget revenue of over 529 trillion VND. In Ha Tinh, industrial production saw a 38.9% increase, supported by significant credit growth.
