Vietnam state budget revenue reaches 80% of annual target

Vietnam's state budget revenue for the first eight months of 2026 is estimated at nearly 2,024 trillion VND, reaching 80% of the annual target and representing a 16% increase compared to the same period last year. Domestic revenue accounted for 1,752.9 trillion VND, making up 86.6% of the total budget revenue.

Other revenue streams included 43.6 trillion VND from crude oil and 223.9 trillion VND from import-export activities. Total state budget expenditure for the eight-month period reached approximately 1,608 trillion VND, which is 50.9% of the annual estimate and a 13.3% increase year-on-year.

In Hanoi, the state budget revenue for the same period reached approximately 521,336 billion VND, achieving 80.2% of the annual target and increasing by 8.9% compared to the previous year. Local budget expenditure in the capital city reached nearly 138,913 billion VND, a 70.3% increase.
