Vietnam Stock Exchange reports 38% profit growth in H1 2026
The Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX) reported strong financial growth for the first half of 2026, with after-tax profit reaching VND 1.419 trillion ($54.2 million), a 38% increase compared to the same period last year.
Securities trading services were the primary driver of revenue, accounting for 93.5% of the total, or VND 2.270 trillion ($86.7 million). Other revenue streams included service provision, professional operations, listing services, and auction fees. While profits rose, VNX's total assets decreased by 11.6% to VND 4.178 trillion ($159.7 million), largely due to a reduction in cash reserves.
The exchange's performance coincided with an upward trend in Vietnam's stock market. By the end of June 2026, total market capitalization across the Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Unlisted Public Company markets exceeded VND 10.57 quadrillion ($404 billion), representing approximately 82.3% of Vietnam's 2025 GDP. Market liquidity remained high, and the number of securities accounts grew 13% from the end of 2025 to reach 13.43 million.
