Vietnam strengthens international diplomatic and security ties

Vietnam is engaging in several high-level diplomatic and security activities. In Lianyungang, China, Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong chaired the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum and the establishment of the International Alliance against Telecom and Online Fraud.

Bilateral security discussions included talks between Vietnamese Public Security Minister Luong Tam Quang and Wang Xiaohong, as well as meetings between Vietnamese Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam and Japanese Deputy Minister Kajihara Daisuke. Additionally, the Ministry of Public Security is seeking strategic cooperation with Mastercard.

On the diplomatic front, Vietnam is celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties with Thailand. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and President Lam hosted the King and Queen of Thailand, emphasizing the importance of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Separately, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung met with Mastercard Vice Chairman Jon M. Huntsman, reaffirming the importance of Vietnam-US relations following the establishment of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023.
