Vietnam targets full digitization of agricultural and environmental services

Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has outlined an administrative reform plan for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on digital transformation and the integration of artificial intelligence. For the 2026–2027 period, the Ministry aims to provide end-to-end online public services for 100% of eligible procedures and issue 100% of administrative results electronically.

The initiative seeks to achieve a 95% satisfaction rate among citizens and businesses by transitioning from a “passive” service model to a “proactive” one based on data. To reduce costs and time, the Ministry plans to simplify documentation and minimize redundant information by leveraging national and sectoral databases.

Key priorities include developing centralized and secure digital infrastructure for the agricultural and environmental sectors. Specifically, the land sector will be a priority, with goals to complete the measurement, digitization, and cleaning of data to ensure connectivity with other national systems. The Ministry also intends to develop databases regarding agricultural product markets and emission sources.
