Vietnam tax authorities flag irregular companies, citing Gia Đặng case

Vietnam's tax administration issued alerts to tax offices in Cần Thơ, Ho Chi Minh City and Vĩnh Long after identifying the Gia Đặng Trading‑Service Co. as a high‑risk taxpayer. Founded in January 2023 and directed by Đặng Hữu Tâm, the company reported over VND 197 billion in sales despite having no office, warehouse or visible operations at its registered address, and it paid less than VND 7 million in value‑added tax.

In a separate action, the Tax Base 11 office in Thanh Hóa province published a public list of 393 taxpayers – 232 entities that do not operate at their registered locations and 161 whose businesses have ceased but whose tax codes remain active – as part of a nationwide campaign to clean up tax numbers and remove obstacles to business activity.
