Vietnam Television launches dedicated documentary time slot on VTV2
Vietnam Television (VTV) is introducing a dedicated documentary programming block on its VTV2 channel to provide viewers with a consistent viewing schedule. Starting November 2, 2026, the channel will air documentaries every Monday through Friday at 21:00.
According to VTV Deputy General Director Do Duc Hoang, the initiative aims to address the issue of documentary content being scattered across various time slots, which previously prevented audiences from forming regular viewing habits. The new block will feature a diverse range of works, including acclaimed VTV Special productions such as ‘Duong Kach Menh’, ‘Duong Ve’, and ‘Hanh Trinh Thong Nhat’, alongside new series like ‘Hanh Trinh Doi Moi’, ‘Dong Chay Thinh Vuong’, and ‘Chuyen Minh’.
Director Nguyen Hoang Lam noted that the specialized time slot is intended to build a documentary ecosystem on television and foster deeper engagement with the public. The programming will include both new productions and older, high-value works that remain relevant to contemporary social issues and humanistic values.
