Vietnam tightens safety and security rules for tourism and crypto assets
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Directive 4402, ordering local authorities to strengthen safety measures for tourism activities. The directive calls for stricter inspections of watercraft, high‑speed vessels and tourist sites prone to landslides or floods, bans tours when weather conditions are unsafe, and requires companies to train visitors in disaster response. The move follows recent serious accidents, including a capsized tourist boat in Phú Quốc.
At the Vietnam RWA Summit 2026, officials highlighted the need for robust security and risk‑management frameworks in the digital‑asset sector. They urged the creation of technical standards for blockchain platforms, asset verification, data protection and coordinated oversight among regulators, financial institutions and technology firms. Both initiatives reflect a broader government push to enhance risk mitigation across key economic areas.
