Vietnam to suspend unverified mobile SIMs after June 15 deadline
Starting 15 June, mobile subscriptions that have been synchronized with Vietnam’s national electronic ID (VNeID) but whose users have not confirmed the right to use the number will be blocked in one direction. A blocked SIM can no longer make calls or send SMS until the subscriber completes the verification process.
Users with a single phone number that was used to register a VNeID account are automatically updated and need take no further action. Individuals who own two or more numbers must log into the VNeID app, review each linked subscription, and confirm the numbers they still use. Authorities advise all users to check their phone numbers before the deadline to avoid service interruption.
