Vietnam trade turnover shows growth in Ivory Coast and seafood sectors

Vietnam's trade with Ivory Coast reached nearly $1 billion in the first seven months of 2026, marking its highest level for the 2022–2026 period. Total trade turnover stood at $999.2 million. While Vietnamese exports to Ivory Coast fell 29% year-on-year to $298 million—driven largely by a 59% drop in rice exports—imports from Ivory Coast rose 34% to $701.2 million. Key imports included $484 million worth of cashew nuts and $16.4 million in cotton.

In the seafood sector, Vietnam's shrimp exports reached approximately $2.8 billion in the first seven months of 2026, a 13.5% increase compared to the previous year. China remains the largest single market, accounting for $939 million (a 42.3% increase), representing over 33% of total shrimp export turnover. The United States ranks as the second-largest market with $357.5 million, despite an 11.4% year-on-year decrease, though recent monthly data shows signs of recovery.
