Vietnam traffic police rush boy to hospital during expressway emergency

Traffic police officers on the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway used a specialized patrol vehicle to rush a 4-year-old boy to the hospital after he suffered a high fever and seizures.

On August 28, during a patrol for the National Day holiday, officers from Highway Patrol Team No. 7 encountered a 16-seat passenger bus stopped on the emergency lane at Km 52. The passengers signaled for urgent help. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found the child, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, in a critical state due to high fever and convulsions.

The police team immediately transported the boy and his father to Tien Giang General Hospital. Medical staff were able to stabilize the child, who has since passed the critical stage. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Huong, the unit has assisted in 12 such emergency medical transport cases since the beginning of 2026, including incidents involving strokes and obstetric emergencies.
