Vietnam U17 team linked to friendly tournament in Spain

The Panama Football Federation has announced an international friendly tournament in Spain scheduled for late September, featuring the U17 national teams of Vietnam, Panama, Morocco, and Australia. All four participating teams are qualified for the 2026 U17 World Cup.

According to the schedule released by Panama, the matches will take place in the Catalonia region. Vietnam is slated to face Australia on September 27, Panama on September 30, and Morocco on October 3. The tournament serves as a high-level preparation phase for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

While the Panama Football Federation's announcement includes Vietnam, leadership from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has stated that the Vietnam U17 team will not be participating in this specific tournament.
