Vietnam youth football teams prepare for U17 and U15 World Cups

Vietnam's youth football teams are preparing for upcoming international milestones. The U17 national team has secured a place in the 2026 U17 World Cup after advancing through the AFC U17 Asian Cup, where they finished as runners-up in the group stages following victories over Yemen and UAE.

Simultaneously, the U15 national team is preparing for the FIFA U15 World Cup & Festival 2026. This tournament features a unique 8v8 format on smaller pitches, requiring players to adapt to new rules, such as offside regulations being applied only in the attacking third and kick-ins replacing throw-ins. Head coach Hoang Anh Tuan noted that the squad is currently undergoing rigorous selection and training to adapt to these specific technical requirements.
