Vietnam U23 to face Thailand in Gia Lai international friendly tournament

The Vietnam U23 national football team is set to participate in the U23 Gia Lai International Friendly Tournament in 2026. Organized by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in collaboration with HAGL Club and the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the tournament will feature Vietnam, Thailand, Qatar, and Singapore competing in a single round-robin format.

Vietnam is scheduled to open the tournament against Thailand on November 10 at Pleiku Arena. Following this, they will face Singapore on November 12 and Qatar on November 14. The event serves as a preparation period for the squad under interim coach Dinh Hong Vinh, aiming to build experience for upcoming competitions including the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers and the 34th SEA Games in Malaysia.

Local officials noted that the tournament aims to provide a high-level competitive environment for the players while simultaneously promoting the local culture of Gia Lai to domestic and international visitors.
