Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations history

The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, established on March 26, 1983, serves as a key political-social organization for Vietnam's scientific and technological intellectuals. The organization aims to unite and promote the creative potential of experts to support national construction and defense.

Professor Tran Dai Nghia served as the first President, building the organization from its initial 15 members. A prominent figure in military science and defense industry, he was later honored as Honorary President. Following him, Professor Ha Hoc Trac served as President during the second and third terms, contributing significantly to higher education, electrical engineering, and the establishment of the Vietnam Foundation for Science and Technology Support (VIFOTEC).

The organization's mission is rooted in the guidance of Ho Chi Minh, who emphasized during the 1963 congress of the predecessor organization that science must emerge from production and return to serve the people to improve productivity and living standards.
