ASEAN-China trade cooperation expands at 23rd CAEXPO

The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Investment and Trade Summit (CABIS) have opened in Nanning, Guangxi. The event focuses on the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 version, aiming to enhance high-quality economic growth and regional connectivity through digital economy, green development, and artificial intelligence.

Vietnam is heavily involved in this economic corridor. In the first eight months of 2026, Vietnam-China import-export turnover reached $216 billion, a 35% increase year-on-year. China remains a leading source of FDI in Vietnam, with over 7,000 projects totaling approximately $37 billion.

Discussions at recent forums highlight the need for Vietnamese enterprises to overcome technological and human resource bottlenecks to integrate deeper into global supply chains. Additionally, companies like Green i-Park are expanding cooperation with the China-ASEAN Business and Trade Center to facilitate investment and trade between Chinese businesses and the ASEAN market.
