Vietnam utilizes GeoAI and remote sensing to clean national land database
Vietnam is implementing advanced technologies, including remote sensing, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and GeoAI, to clean and standardize the national land database. This initiative aims to create a “correct, sufficient, clean, and live” data system to optimize land management, verification, and cross-referencing across the country.
Under joint plans from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, local authorities are conducting intensive reviews to standardize cadastral maps and land registration. The process involves multi-layered inspections, using satellite imagery for wide-area observation and UAVs for detailed monitoring in key areas to identify overlapping land plots or location discrepancies.
In Hung Yen province, efforts are underway to standardize data for 3.2 million land parcels. Local officials emphasize that digital transformation in land management is essential for transparency and effective governance, ensuring that land data is accurate, synchronized, and capable of connecting with other national databases.
