Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan strengthen ties during Bishkek diplomatic visit

During her visit to Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus Summit, Vietnamese Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân engaged in several high-level diplomatic activities to strengthen ties with Kyrgyzstan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Vice President Xuân met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation in politics, diplomacy, trade, and investment. She also met with Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the EAEU Economic Committee, to discuss upgrading the Vietnam-EAEU Free Trade Agreement and removing trade barriers for textiles, footwear, and rice. Vietnam expressed interest in expanding cooperation into high-tech sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and energy transition.

In a significant cultural event, a bronze monument of President Ho Chi Minh was inaugurated at Royal Central Park in Bishkek. The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese and Kyrgyz officials, including the President of the Kyrgyz Parliament. Additionally, Vice President Xuân met with the Vietnamese community living in Kyrgyzstan to foster cultural and social connections.
