Vietnam women's football team begins Asiad 2026 training in China

The Vietnam women's national football team has arrived in Suzhou, China, for a critical training camp ahead of the Asiad 2026 tournament in Japan. Under the guidance of coach Hoàng Văn Phúc, the squad is focusing on physical conditioning, tactical refinement, and maintaining match fitness.

As part of their preparation, the team is scheduled to play two friendly matches in China: one against the women's club Jiangsu Nanjing on September 5, and another against the China women's national team on September 9. These matches are intended to help the coaching staff evaluate player readiness and tactical approaches.

Veteran striker Phạm Hải Yến, who noted that this may be her final Asiad appearance, expressed satisfaction with the training facilities in Suzhou. She emphasized the importance of these friendlies for gaining competitive experience.

Vietnam is placed in a highly competitive group for Asiad 2026, alongside hosts Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand. Their group stage schedule includes matches against Chinese Taipei on September 14, Japan on September 17, and Thailand on September 21.
