The Vietnam women's tennis team has achieved a historic promotion to Group II of the Billie Jean King Cup for the Asia/Oceania region in 2027. Following a 2-1 victory over Nepal in a playoff held at NovaWorld Phan Thiet, the team secured the only promotion spot available in the tournament.

Trần Thụy Thanh Trúc opened the match with a 2-1 win (6-0, 6-7, 6-4) against Shrijana Thapa. Although Nguyễn Thị Mai Linh lost to Swastika Bista in two tie-break sets (6-7, 6-7), the decisive doubles match saw Louise Natasha and Trần Thụy Thanh Trúc defeat the Nepalese duo of Shrijana Thapa and Swastika Bista with a 2-0 score (6-4, 7-6).

This victory marks the first time the Vietnamese women's tennis team has reached Group II of the prestigious international team competition organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The team earned a total prize of over 300 million VND for their achievement. Vietnam finished at the top of the standings, followed by Nepal, Northern Mariana Islands, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Brunei, and Iraq.
