Vietnam Youth Entrepreneurship Contest Shows Creative Industry Push

Vietnam is encouraging young people to align career choices with the country’s growing digital creative sector. At a recent forum, university education officials urged students to consider programs such as multimedia arts at Arena Multimedia, citing the government’s Strategy for Cultural Industries that targets software, entertainment games and design as priority sectors. The strategy aims to raise domestic online game revenues to roughly VND 25 trillion (about US$1 billion) and place Vietnam among the top three Southeast Asian game markets.

Meanwhile, the semi‑finals of the 2026 Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Project Competition were held in Lao Cai, featuring 35 projects from northern provinces. Nguyen Kim Quy, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Youth, highlighted the role of innovation, science, technology and digital transformation in achieving Vietnam’s 2045 high‑income goal. Participants showcased ideas that apply new technologies to agriculture and rural development, reflecting a broader national drive to foster youth‑led startups and modernize the countryside.
