Vietnam youth launch nationwide environmental cleanup campaigns

Youth organizations across Vietnam have launched large-scale environmental protection initiatives as part of the Green Sunday campaign and the ‘Make the World Cleaner’ campaign.

In Ho Chi Minh City, over 400 volunteers participated in activities in Thoi An Ward. The efforts focused on cleaning the Nha Nuoi canal, clearing vegetation, and removing waste to improve water flow, reduce odors, and mitigate flooding risks during the rainy season. The initiative was a collaboration between the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Environmental Protection Department, and local authorities.

In Hanoi, youth unions across 126 communes and wards simultaneously implemented cleaning activities. In Thuong Tin Commune, volunteers worked to eliminate pollution hotspots, clean public roads, and improve local landscapes. The program also included distributing eco-friendly bags and trash bins to residents and market management to encourage the reduction of plastic waste and promote sustainable living habits.
