Vietnam Youth Union moves to implement 13th Congress resolutions
The 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union concluded on 25 June 2024, drawing nearly 800 elite delegates representing over 21.6 million members at home and abroad. The congress adopted a new action slogan – “Self‑reliance – Pioneering innovation – Aspiring contribution – Shaping the future” – and set out a five‑year plan (2026‑2031) to develop a new generation of Vietnamese youth with strong revolutionary ideals, digital skills, entrepreneurship and civic commitment.
The Central Committee said the next phase will focus on studying, disseminating and translating the congress resolutions into concrete programmes and campaigns across all levels. A national conference on the resolutions is scheduled for July, and the Union will use digital management tools to assess member awareness. Senior officials, including Secretary‑General Ho Hong Nguyen, emphasized that implementing the resolutions is now the priority, aiming to strengthen the Union’s role as a reliable reserve force for the Party and a driver of youth participation in national development.
