Vietnam Youth Union Targets Support for 750 Startup Projects by 2031

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam has outlined a goal to assist at least 750 youth‑led innovation and startup projects in reaching the market over the next five years, as part of its draft direction for the 2026‑2031 term. The plan aims to boost the digital economy, with projects focusing on artificial intelligence, digital education, high‑tech agriculture, e‑commerce, and environmental technologies.

The target is linked to broader national ambitions for Vietnam to become a high‑income, knowledge‑based economy by 2045, and to the Union’s 13th National Congress scheduled for 24‑25 June 2026, which will convene roughly 800 delegates representing 21.6 million young people. The Union’s strategy emphasizes cultivating digital skills, creativity, and global competitiveness among Vietnamese youth, positioning them as a driving force for the country’s future development.
