Vietnamese actor Nguyễn Long Vũ charts new roles after breakout as “Chải”

Nguyễn Long Vũ, born in 2001 and the son of artist Vân Dung, became a household name in 2024 when his performance as “Chải” in the television drama Đi giữa trời rực rỡ went viral on social media. The role earned him widespread attention for its natural acting and memorable lines.

Following the success, Long Vũ deliberately stepped back from constant media exposure to avoid being type‑cast. He has focused on honing his craft, choosing projects that offer deeper character challenges. He graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema and previously appeared in minor roles in series such as Lối nhỏ vào đời and Không ngại cưới chỉ cần một lý do.

Looking ahead, he is slated to appear in the 2025 film Tường lửa Tràng An, playing a more complex, introspective character, and in the 2026 VTV prime‑time drama Mùa hè năm ấy as the young Khánh, a role markedly different from his earlier “Chải” persona.
