Vietnamese actor Viet Anh sets record on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
Vietnamese actor Viet Anh holds the record for the highest prize money won by an artist on the television program ‘Ai Là Triệu Phú’ (the Vietnamese version of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’). After securing the prize, Viet Anh chose to stop the game at question 14 to preserve his winnings. He subsequently donated the entire 60 million VND to the government's Covid-19 vaccine fund.
The original ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ format originated in the United Kingdom on ITV in 1998. The global format has been adapted in approximately 120 countries, utilizing local languages, hosts, and prize structures while maintaining the core tension of the multiple-choice competition.
