Vietnamese artists highlight career achievements and cultural contributions
Prominent Vietnamese artists are being recognized for their long-standing contributions to traditional and modern performing arts.
People's Artist (NSND) Bach Tuyet, a leading figure in Cai Luong theater, has maintained a successful career for over 60 years. Known as the ‘treasure of Cai Luong,’ she began performing in tea rooms at age 12 and achieved significant professional success by age 16, which allowed her to build a three-story house for her father. She continues to work with younger artists to modernize traditional music.
Additionally, People's Artist (NSND) Tran Ly Ly has made significant impacts on the Vietnamese dance community. After graduating as valedictorian from the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema, she received a scholarship to study in Australia and later worked in France. She returned to Vietnam in 2003 to contribute to the domestic dance scene, eventually serving as the first female director of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet and the first female Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts.
