Lâm Đồng police investigate false robbery report by youth

Police in Tân Hà Lâm Hà commune, Lâm Đồng province, are processing a case involving a young man who fabricated a robbery to hide financial troubles from his parents.

N. Đ. T. (born 2008) initially reported to authorities that three unidentified individuals had threatened him with knives and stolen an iPhone 17 Pro. However, after investigators reviewed local camera footage and found inconsistencies in his statement, T. confessed to the fabrication.

According to his confession, T. had previously sold an iPhone 17 Pro to purchase an iPhone 18 Pro. Due to debts he could not repay, he sold the newer device on October 16. Fearing his parents would discover the loss, he staged the robbery report. Authorities are currently finalizing documentation to consider administrative penalties for the false report.
