Vietnamese businesses shift strategy to enter US market
Vietnamese enterprises are shifting their strategies to better penetrate the United States market, moving from a simple export mindset to establishing a direct presence within the country. For example, Phu Tai Joint Stock Company has approved an investment plan to establish PHU TAI HOME USA, INC. in Houston, Texas, with an expected investment of approximately $1 million to handle the trade and distribution of stone and wood products.
During a seminar in Hanoi organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), experts emphasized that competitive pricing is no longer sufficient. To succeed, businesses must navigate stringent US requirements regarding legal compliance, corporate governance, traceability, and rules of origin. VCCI Vice Chairman Hoang Quang Phong advised companies to proactively update their knowledge of local regulations, strengthen risk management, and seek long-term integration into US supply chains through brand building and expanded partner networks.
