Vietnamese Cải lương artists celebrate major career milestones

Prominent Vietnamese Cải lương artists recently held major milestone performances.

Artist Kim Tiểu Long held a liveshow to commemorate 35 years in the industry. Returning from the United States, he expressed pride in his roots in the Mekong Delta, the cradle of Cải lương. Singer Mạnh Quỳnh also attended the event, noting his long-standing support for the traditional art form and his efforts to compose Cải lương songs in English to engage younger generations abroad.

Separately, artist Kim Tử Long held a large-scale liveshow titled ‘Không Phai’ at the Ben Thanh Theater to celebrate his 60th birthday and 45 years in the profession. The five-hour performance, which lasted until the early morning, featured various theatrical excerpts and served as a tribute to his career and the audience that has supported him. Kim Tử Long expressed his desire to continue performing and passing the art of Cải lương down to future generations.
