Vietnamese couple opens Korean restaurant in Mỹ Tho after years of setbacks
Trang and her husband, parents of two, left Hanoi and, after brief stays in Dong Nai and several failed businesses—including a snack shop near a school, a real‑estate venture, and a phone store—relocated to Mỹ Tho in the Mekong Delta. In 2018 they decided to invest more than 1 billion VND into a Korean‑food restaurant, dedicating virtually all their capital to the project. Both learned new skills: the husband trained as a chef while Trang took on cash‑register and beverage duties.
The restaurant has become financially stable, providing the family with a higher income than they earned in Hanoi. Their perseverance, driven by the desire to support their young children, turned the venture into a sustainable business after three years of uncertainty.
