Vietnamese diaspora encouraged to serve as global cultural ambassadors
Vietnamese officials and intellectuals are emphasizing the role of overseas Vietnamese as cultural and professional ambassadors. In Beijing, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh addressed over 70 new Vietnamese students during a welcoming program organized by the Vietnamese Student Association. He encouraged students to overcome language and cultural barriers while acting as “young ambassadors” to promote Vietnam’s dynamic and developing image to the international community.
In a broader context regarding the Vietnamese diaspora in Europe, experts suggest that national pride and community connection are more effective at retaining talent than mere policy incentives. Examples include Professor Ngo Quoc Hien in Northern Ireland, BIM expert Pham Huy Hoang in Belgium, and various professionals in Germany and the football industry. These individuals contribute to Vietnam’s global presence by connecting research networks, building innovation communities, and sharing Vietnamese stories through film and professional excellence.
