Vietnamese directors prepare diverse projects for 2027 Tet film season

The Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) film season for 2027 is beginning to take shape with several prominent directors preparing diverse projects. Three major directors, each with a history of box office success, are leading the competition.

Trấn Thành is returning with a new project titled ‘Em’, which has already completed filming. Known for his focus on psychological drama and family relationships, Trấn Thành noted that he pivoted to this story because of its emotional impact. Victor Vũ is introducing ‘Thám tử Kiên: Lời nguyền hoàng kim’, while Dương Minh Chiến is launching ‘Loạn thế: Nghĩa khí anh hùng’.

The upcoming season shows a trend toward diversifying genres, moving beyond a single dominant style to capture a wider audience through different cinematic approaches.
