Vietnamese films ‘Út Lan 2’ and ‘Lên hương’ lead box office competition

The Vietnamese film market is currently dominated by a competitive race between two domestic horror and spiritual films, ‘Út Lan 2’ and ‘Lên hương’. According to data from Box Office Vietnam, these two titles account for nearly two-thirds of the total market revenue.

During the weekend of September 18–20, ‘Út Lan 2’, directed by Trần Trọng Dần, initially led with over 21.3 billion VND in revenue. However, by September 22, ‘Lên hương’, directed by Khương Ngọc, surged to the top spot with a total revenue exceeding 78.8 billion VND after 10 days of release.

As of the afternoon of September 22, ‘Út Lan 2’ followed in second place with a total revenue of more than 26.8 billion VND. While ‘Út Lan 2’ maintains a higher number of screenings, ‘Lên hương’ has shown strong momentum in ticket sales. Other notable entries in the top five include the Hollywood film ‘Weapons’ (Vùng đất quỷ dữ) and the ‘Soobin live concert movie’.
