Vietnamese horror film Án mạng karaoke tops box office

The Vietnamese horror film “Án mạng karaoke,” directed by Hoàng Lê, has taken the top spot at the domestic box office. According to Box Office Vietnam, during the weekend of October 23–25, the film earned approximately 21.7 billion VND from 231,509 tickets, accounting for 48.7% of the total market revenue.

Including early screenings, the film's total revenue has exceeded 36 billion VND. The film, which features actors such as Vân Dung and Đại Nghĩa, follows a group of neighbors at a mountain retreat where a karaoke enthusiast is murdered, leading to a mystery involving local secrets and conflicts.

“Án mạng karaoke” surpassed “Trại buôn người,” which earned 11 billion VND (24.7% of market revenue) over the same period. While “Trại buôn người” has seen a decline in momentum, it has previously achieved significant success, surpassing records set by Lý Hải’s films. The top two Vietnamese films combined accounted for over 73% of the total market revenue during the weekend.
