Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families to visit Vietnam
A program has been launched to support multicultural Vietnamese-South Korean families from Gyeongsangnam Province in visiting Vietnam during the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival. The initiative, themed ‘Returning Home for Tet - A Journey of Happiness,’ is implemented by the Gyeongsangnam Family Center and funded by the STX Welfare Foundation and the Korea Social Welfare Community Foundation.
Sixteen families, totaling 49 members, were selected following nominations from 13 family centers within the province. The group is scheduled to visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from September 18 to 29.
During the launch ceremony, Doan Phuong Lan, the Vietnamese Consul General in Busan, emphasized the importance of the program in strengthening family bonds and helping the younger generation connect with their Vietnamese roots. She noted that the shared cultural values of both nations, particularly the emphasis on family and filial piety, provide a foundation for these multicultural families to build mutual understanding.
