Vietnamese man wins billions after buying 14 unsold lottery tickets

A man in his 40s won a significant lottery prize in Vietnam after purchasing 14 unsold lottery tickets just before the drawing. The tickets were from the An Giang lottery held on August 27. Among the winning tickets, two hit the jackpot worth 4 billion VND, while the remaining 12 won consolation prizes totaling 600 million VND. The total prize amount is subject to personal income tax.

In a separate event, two other individuals recently won large sums through the Vinh Long lottery on August 28. A ride-hailing driver in Ho Chi Minh City won two jackpot tickets worth 4 billion VND, and a female garment worker won one jackpot ticket worth 2 billion VND. Both winners reportedly purchased the tickets to support street vendors.
