Vietnamese manufacturers accelerate production for year-end demand
Vietnamese manufacturing and industrial sectors are ramping up capacity to meet year-end export contracts and holiday demand. In the garment sector, THAGACO is mobilizing personnel and equipment at its Dai Tu 1 factory, with orders secured through the second quarter of 2027. The company plans to launch a smart green factory in 2026 and has implemented technical improvements that have increased efficiency by approximately 20%.
In the steel and construction sectors, companies are also preparing for increased volume. Tan Khanh Steel and Construction reports a typical year-end order increase of 15-20%, supported by investments in automated cutting and welding machinery.
Financial results from the third quarter of 2026 highlight shifting business models within the industry. Thong Nhat Steel Plate (TNS) reported a significant profit increase, with after-tax profit reaching 9.59 billion VND, nearly 9.7 times higher than the previous year, despite a decrease in total revenue. This growth was driven by a strategic shift toward high-margin processing services, which accounted for 28.5% of total revenue and over 88% of the company's gross profit.
