Vietnamese overseas intellectuals aim to return and contribute to national development

Vietnamese researchers and intellectuals living abroad are increasingly viewed as strategic resources for the nation's development. In Russia, PhD candidates such as Pham Quoc Phong, who specializes in UAV control algorithms at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and Bui Bao Thien, who researches urban expansion and climate change at Southern Federal University, have both expressed a firm intention to return to Vietnam to apply their expertise.

This individual commitment aligns with broader national efforts to connect the overseas Vietnamese community with their homeland. Following decades of policy implementation, such as Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW, the Vietnamese government continues to refine mechanisms to mobilize the resources of the diaspora. The goal is to transform the overseas community into a vital force for national prosperity and global integration.
