Vietnamese Police Dismantle Transnational Fraud Ring in Thanh Hoa
Vietnamese authorities, led by the Ministry of Public Security and the Criminal Police Department, have dismantled a transnational criminal organization operating out of the Van Hoa Hotel in Thanh Hoa province. The operation resulted in the arrest of 113 foreign nationals and several Vietnamese accomplices.
Investigators determined that Chinese nationals collaborated with Vietnamese individuals to establish Kinh Vi Space Co., Ltd. to lease hotel facilities for fraudulent activities. The group utilized computers, telecommunications, and electronic devices to conduct online scams and illegal gambling. Initial findings suggest the group misappropriated approximately 50 billion VND.
The criminal setup included dedicated workspaces equipped with computers, mobile phones, and pre-prepared scam scripts. Evidence indicates that equipment and data used in these operations were transported from Cambodia into Vietnam.
