Vietnamese provinces seek international trade expansion in Japan and South Korea
A delegation from Lao Cai province met with JETRO Osaka in Japan to discuss economic cooperation and investment opportunities. Led by Hoang Giang, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, the delegation highlighted the province's strategic position on the Kunming-Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong-Quang Ninh economic corridor. Discussions focused on connecting Japanese businesses with Lao Cai through trade, technology cooperation, and logistics, leveraging the province's role as a gateway between ASEAN and Southwest China.
Simultaneously, representatives from Dak Lak province participated in the 24th International Fermented Food Exhibition (IFFE 2026) in South Korea. During the event, the brand Miss Ede signed two memoranda of understanding with South Korean companies to promote bilateral trade of processed Robusta coffee and agricultural products. The initiative, supported by the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade and the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea, aims to strengthen the presence of Dak Lak's specialty coffee and chocolate in the South Korean market, including on the e-commerce platform Coupang.
